Cubbi was experiencing a surge in fake or bot-created accounts attempting to exploit system vulnerabilities. To protect users and the platform’s core features — including property listings, rental applications, and financial transactions — Cubbi decided to integrate a robust identity verification system.

As a full-stack developer, I was responsible for researching Stripe Identity’s verification flow, integrating the verification process into Cubbi’s platform, and finally implementing access control based on verification status to block bots and unverified users from key actions.
Key features
Detailed Stripe Identity verification flow diagrams: I researched and designed the integration process for Stripe Identity Verification into the Cubbi platform.
Secure Identity Verification system: I worked on both the back-end and front-end to build the verification system using Stripe. The system provides users with real-time feedback during and after the verification process. Personal records are securely stored on Stripe’s side, reducing Cubbi’s burden of handling and protecting sensitive user data.
Results & Impact
Fake accounts dropped to near zero , drastically reducing system abuse.
